Cradley Church of England Primary School Believe, belong, be happy; every child, every chance, every day

Remembrance service

Our Remembrance service is a very important part of our school year. Year 6 lead the service and we are always very proud to welcome our friends from the British Legion. Following our service, we are joined by Year 6 pupils from Colley Lane and Caslon for a 'Walk of Remembrance' around Cradley. Rev Katryn usually leads our walk and we stop at key points for readings and prayers led by Year 6 pupils from across all three schools. Our school log book shows that this was actually done following the signing of the Armistice in 1918. This makes our walk even more moving. We walk down the 'Avenue of Remembrance' and plant poppies at the cross which was donated by the headteacher of Cradley Church School in 1918.  We then walk to the church for a two minute silence and lay wreaths.
