At Cradley C of E Primary, poetry is taught as an integral part of our English curriculum. Poetry is rooted in word play, song and rhythm. From their very first days at school, children are immersed in rhyme by sharing and performing nursery rhymes. We believe it is crucial to continue to hear poems being read aloud, explore poems and write and perform their own work. Poems are read aloud and enjoyed every Friday during our daily reading session. The poems we study across the key stages include classic and modern works from a diverse range of poets.
