Chronology at Cradley
Human history is like a huge jigsaw which is all interconnected. Without a clear understanding of how the pieces fit together, students are unable to make links between groups of people or time periods or understand the causes and consequences of certain events. This is where chronological understanding comes in. We work with the children to broaden their understanding of history's 'big picture' so that they have an informed base from which to draw conclusions, make comparisons and interpret sources.
Children engage in regular activities which hone and challenge their chronology with units in Key Stage 2 also being completed in chronological order, to enable children to see the progression throughout history.
