Pupil Leadership Teams

The Value of Pupil Leadership at Cradley C of E

At Cradley C of E, we believe that children are not only the heart of our school community but also active contributors to its success. Our pupil leadership teams give children the chance to develop their voice, take responsibility, and make a real difference.

We see pupil leadership as far more than just a badge or a title. It is an opportunity for children to:

  • Grow in confidence by representing their peers and sharing ideas.

  • Develop key life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making and communication.

  • Live out our school vision and values by showing respect, resilience, courage and care in action.

  • Shape the future of our school by leading projects, influencing decisions, and modelling positive behaviour for others.

The impact is clear: pupils feel a stronger sense of belonging and pride, they know their voice is valued, and they see that even small actions can bring about big change. From leading assemblies and charity events, to helping us think about how we can make our school more sustainable, pupil leaders inspire others and show that everyone has a part to play in making our community flourish.

In short, pupil leadership is about believing in our children and giving them every chance, every day, to make a difference.

Worship Crew supported by Mrs Brailsford (KS2)
Our Worship Crew take a lead as part of our collective worship program, bringing 'Picture News' to KS1 and KS2 classes.

Eco Team supported by Mrs Collins (Pupils from Y3 and 4)
Our Eco Team began to meet during the summer term and have explored ways in which we can begin to live more sustainably at Cradley C of E. Their first action area has been to improve our capacity to recycle throughout school.

Mental Health Champions supported by Miss Lawrence (Year 4)
Our Year 4s have completed their initial training as One Goal's Mental Health Champions achieving a Bronze Award for our school. They have led collective worship sharing their understanding of mental wellbeing and strategies to improve mental health and have also begun to plan an outdoor wellbeing space for pupils to access where they can be quiet, still and reflective. Our pupils are now working towards the silver award.
