Primary PE and Sports Premium and Swimming

  • Sports Premium Funding (also known as the Primary PE and Sport Premium) is additional funding provided by the Department for Education and supported by Sport England to help schools improve the quality of physical education, sport, and physical activity for all pupils.

At our school, this funding is used carefully to create positive, enjoyable, and inclusive sporting experiences. It helps us to develop staff confidence in teaching PE, provide high-quality coaching, improve equipment and facilities, increase opportunities for pupils to take part in competitions and festivals, and promote healthy, active lifestyles. We also use the funding to support clubs, enrichment activities, and initiatives that encourage children to be active, confident, and resilient.

The Sports Premium benefits every child by helping them develop physical skills, teamwork, perseverance, and self-belief. It supports both physical and emotional wellbeing and encourages lifelong habits of staying active and healthy. Through this funding, we aim to ensure that all pupils, whatever their starting point, feel included, motivated, and proud of their achievements.

  • By investing this funding wisely, we are nurturing happy, healthy learners who enjoy being active and understand the importance of looking after their bodies and minds. Together, we are helping every child to believe in themselves, belong in our community, and flourish—on the sports field, in the classroom, and beyond.
