Outdoor Learning

Our outdoor learning programme brings together the best of Forest School approaches with high-quality National Curriculum teaching, creating rich, memorable experiences for every child. Led with passion and enthusiasm by Mrs Elwell, pupils learn through hands-on activities such as safe fire lighting, responsible tool work, den building and exploring our natural spaces.

In Reception and Year 1, children are introduced to outdoor learning through our Wonder Wood approach, where play, storytelling and exploration help build confidence, curiosity and early learning skills in a nurturing woodland environment.

Whether investigating science, developing teamwork, building resilience or strengthening problem-solving skills, children are encouraged to learn in meaningful, real-life contexts. We believe that time spent in nature nurtures wellbeing and a lifelong love of learning – and here, we certainly don’t shy away from getting muddy!
