Remembrance Service
Our Remembrance service is a very important part of our school year, a special time of coming together with our friends from local schools, Cradley parish and the British Legion to remember the sacrifice of those gone before us. Year 6 lead a time of collective worship before we embark upon a parade. Mother Victoria leads our walk and we stop at key points for readings and prayers led by Year 6 pupils from across all three schools.
Our school log book shows that this was actually done following the signing of the Armistice in 1918. This makes our walk even more moving. We walk down the 'Avenue of Remembrance' and plant poppies at the cross which was donated by the headteacher of Cradley Church School in 1918. We then walk to the church for a two-minute silence and lay wreaths at the cenotaph.
