PSHE

Our PSHE subject leader is Mrs Brailsford.
Our PSHE curriculum
At Cradley CE, all teaching and learning is set in the context of family life, taking care to ensure that all families and home circumstances are embraced. We recognise that families may include single parent families, LGBT parents, families headed by grandparents, adoptive parents, foster parents/carers amongst other structures. We will reflect sensitively that some children may have a different structure of support around them (for example: looked after children or young carers).
We use the ‘Jigsaw’ scheme to deliver our PSHE curriculum and have adapted it to meet the needs of our children. This provides a mindful approach and covers all areas of PSHE for the primary phase including statutory Relationships and Health Education.
Children's Mental Health
Mental health and wellbeing remain a key priority for our school. This year, we introduced Mental Wellbeing Champions in Year 3, empowering pupils to support and promote positive wellbeing across the school. Over the coming year, their role will be developed further, giving them more opportunities to lead initiatives and share strategies with their peers. In June, we marked Mental Health Week with a range of activities, culminating in our SHINE celebration—an event that recognised and valued each individual’s unique skills, abilities, and future aspirations.
