This week at Cradley...

It has been another busy and exciting week of learning across the school. In Reception, children enjoyed exploring the Christian Creation story in RE and got creative making their own colourful jellyfish. Year 1 have been developing their writing skills by creating their own versions of Dogger, inspired by their favourite toys.

Year 2 demonstrated fantastic perseverance and resilience during their Maths and Reading tests. In Year 3, pupils brought science to life by acting out the process of pollination and dissecting flowers to identify the different parts involved. Year 5 challenged themselves in writing by creating suspenseful flash forwards, building tension as a mysterious creature approached before ending with an exciting cliffhanger.

Meanwhile, Year 6 combined science and drama as they acted out different animal adaptations, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each. It has been wonderful to see so much creativity, curiosity and determination in learning throughout the school.

Collective Worship This Week

In this week's worship, we reflected on the idea of “one body, many parts,” reminding us that we each have a unique role to play within our school community. Just as the Bible teaches in Leviticus (e.g. Leviticus 19:18) to love and care for one another, we are called to work together in kindness, valuing every individual.

We thought about how we are all members of the Cradley body. Each of us brings our own special talents, skills, and gifts, and when we come together, we make something stronger and more beautiful. No one is the same, and that is something to celebrate.

We also reflected on the truth that every child is “fearfully and wonderfully made” in God’s image (Psalm 139:14). This means each person is unique, special, and full of worth. Our differences are not something to hide, but something to celebrate and cherish.

Together, as one body with many parts, we can support one another, share our gifts, and build a caring, inclusive school community.

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you that each of us is wonderfully made in your image. Thank you for the different gifts and talents you have given us,
and for making us all part of the Cradley family. Help us to work together as one body, to care for one another, and to celebrate our differences. May we use our gifts to build each other up and show your love every day.

Amen
