Headteacher's Message

As we come to the end of a busy and joyful term, I would like to thank every member of our school community for the part you play in making our school such a special place.

This term, our children have shown us what it truly means to believe, belong and be happy. They have believed in themselves and one another, risen to challenges with courage and resilience, and celebrated successes both big and small. They have shown kindness, forgiveness and care, reminding us daily that our values are not just words, but lived out in our classrooms, playgrounds and community. Above all, there has been a real sense of belonging – every child valued, every voice heard, every chance taken, every day.

Christmas is a time of hope, generosity and light. As we reflect on the birth of Jesus, we are reminded of the importance of love, trust and service to others. These messages sit at the heart of our school and are reflected in the way our children look out for one another and the way families and staff work together in partnership.

Thank you to our dedicated staff for their commitment and care, to our families for your continued support and trust, and to our governors, church and wider community for walking alongside us. Together, you help create a school where children can flourish academically, socially and spiritually.

As the term ends, I hope the Christmas break brings you rest, joy and precious time with those you love. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the New Year, refreshed and ready to continue our shared journey.

Collective Worship

In this week's collective worship, for the fourth week of Advent, we thought about love.  Within the Christmas story we considered the love of God in involving the lowliest shepherds as those first to find out about the birth of the baby Jesus.

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Luke 2: 8 - 12

We all have those we love dearly and care about in our families, school, workplaces and friendships but part of belonging together in our country, region and local community is expressing love through showing respect and kindness to those who are different from ourselves and reaching out to those in need.

Let's look out for others to whom we can show kindness and love through this season.  Don't forget to show some love to yourself too!

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you that your message of hope, peace, joy and love is for everyone.

Help us to notice the strengths and talents of others and have the courage to praise them.

May we be people who celebrate each and every person and give us all chances to grow.

Amen

Online safety this holiday season

As we head into the holiday season, we kindly ask families to keep online safety in mind. With more free time and new devices often being used, it’s a good opportunity to talk with children about staying safe online, setting sensible boundaries and knowing when to ask for help if something doesn’t feel right.

We also encourage you to build in moments to switch off screens altogether. Simple, shared experiences – playing games, baking, walking, talking, laughing and being together – are often the memories children treasure most. These times help children feel secure, valued and truly connected.

Thank you for working in partnership with us to support children’s wellbeing. We wish you a safe, restful and joy-filled holiday, full of moments that matter.
