Collective Worship

As we continue to celebrate the Easter festival in the Christian calendar, we shared together how on the 40th day after his resurrection, Jesus ascended to heaven and sent the gift of the Holy Spirit to his disciples to act as a friend, comforter, guide, empowerer and teacher.

We considered in our own lives those who are there for us in a similar way;

- friends who love us and accept us as we are,

- comforters coming alongside us in times of difficulty and challenge,

- guides who give us advice, encouragement and support,

- empowerers who help us to see our potential and that each one of can make a difference

- teachers who help us learn education and life lessons to become the best version of ourselves

The people in our lives who do these things are a gift to us and we gave thanks to God for them.

Reflection:

Consider the people in your life who take one of those roles and this weekend would be a great time to thank them for their gift to you.

Prayer

Dear God,

Be our friend when we feel lonely, our helper when things are hard, and our guide when we don’t know what to do.

Teach us to be kind, to be brave, and to love others.

Stay close to us at school, at home, and everywhere we go.

Amen.
